Principal of Enchi College of Education, Mr. Philip Ntaah on Friday, April 28, 2023, held the first-ever meeting with leadership of all year groups of the College’s Alumni Association to come together and chart a path towards strengthening the College’s Alumni.

The meeting also provided the platform for discussions on plans for the upcoming 60th-anniversary celebration of the College and ways to create and bolster alumni chapters for the sustained development of the College.

Enchi College of Education shares the vision of becoming an inclusive and gender-sensitive centre of excellence, producing competent, innovative, and lifelong learning teachers of integrity in a congenial learning environment. Our core values are diligence, quality, excellence, and inclusivity.

Established in November 1965 as a male institution to run a 4-Year Post-Middle Teacher’s Certificate ‘A’ programme. The college later became co-educational in 1975 and was later converted into a Three-Year Post-Secondary Teacher Training College in 1988. In 2004, the college started the three-year Diploma in Basic Education and was granted institutional Accreditation to tertiary status by the National Accreditation Board in 2007. At the beginning of the 2018/2019 academic year, Enchi College of Education started the Bachelor of Education (JHS Education) programme, specializing in French, English, Ghanaian Language, and Social Studies.

It will be recalled that the College was recently adjudged as the Best Performing College of Education in the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission’s Fidelity of Implementation exercise on the rollout of the Bachelor of Education programme. Enchi College of Education is one of the six Colleges of Education affiliated to the University of Ghana, Legon.
